About Seedling Psychology

Dr Louisa Reynolds

Founder and Director

Hello!

My name is Louisa, and I am the founder of Seedling Psychology.

I am an Educational and Child Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I completed my doctoral training in Educational and Child Psychology at University College London (UCL), where my thesis research explored mindfulness in schools — examining its impact on, and the factors affecting, pupil and staff wellbeing. Through my work as an Educational and Child Psychologist, across both local authority and independent practice, I have developed a particular specialism in promoting wellbeing in schools and communities. I believe strongly in working in partnership with, and empowering, the key adults who care for children and young people — building their capacity through evidence-based approaches.

With this in mind, I have pursued further training and qualifications in supervision for staff working in school and community settings at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, and I am a registered supervisor with the British Psychological Society. I am also an accredited practitioner in Video Interactive Guidance (VIG), having trained with the Association for VIG UK, and I have completed training in Mindfulness with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and the Mindfulness in Schools Project, as well as enhanced training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children and adolescents at Oxford University.

I started Seedling Psychology because I am passionate about promoting positive growth and development in children and young people, and about using psychology to help make that possible. If you'd like to know more about Seedling Psychology or my work, please get in touch.

Alice Ambler

Assistant Child and Educational Psychologist

Hello, my name is Alice, and I am the Assistant Educational and Child Psychologist at Seedling Psychology.

I completed my BSc (Hons) Psychology degree at the University of Exeter, where I developed a particular interest in child development and the factors that influence children’s emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing. During my final year, I specialised in childhood brain plasticity, parental psychiatric disorders and child development, and social inclusion and exclusion in childhood and adolescence. My dissertation explored the relationship between traumatic brain injury, impulsivity, childhood parenting style and risk-taking behaviours. These experiences strengthened my passion for understanding children’s development and supporting their wellbeing.

I have experience supporting children and young people across private psychology, education and paediatric healthcare settings. I also regularly support the delivery of ELSA and MeLSA training for schools, as well as developing accessible psychological resources for children, families and education professionals.

In my role with Seedling Psychology, I support psychological assessment and intervention, including contributing to assessments and reports and delivering 1:1 support to children and young people under the supervision of Dr Louisa Reynolds.

I take a warm, child-centred and strengths-based approach to my work. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where children and young people feel listened to, understood and able to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

I am passionate about continuing my professional development and hope to pursue doctoral training in Educational Psychology in the future, with the aim of contributing further to psychological research and practice supporting children and young people.
